Extension to Gas Year 2023 of the operational measures already implemented in Switzerland to support the Swiss Security of Supply

Following up on the agreement reached in 2022, FluxSwiss, Swissgas and Transitgas in their capacity as Swiss Transmission System Operators have agreed to extend to Gas Year 2023 the so-called “Emergency Procedure” aimed at mitigating the impact of a possible gas emergency affecting the Swiss domestic market by means of specific inter-TSO measures.
The validity of the measures activated for Gas Year 2022 has been prolonged until 30th September 2024. In particular, transit shippers will be allowed to sublet transit capacity to shippers supplying the Swiss domestic market and/or redeliver gas to a Swiss domestic counterparty at a virtual point located within Switzerland.
The Swiss TSOs also envisage the need for coordination between the Emergency Procedure itself and solidarity agreements possibly signed by Switzerland with European neighbouring countries, to ensure mutual and synchronised cooperation between adjacent markets in case of Security of Supply scenarios.
