ENGIE, parent company Fluxys, Mitsubishi Corporation, and NYK have taken delivery of the world’s first purpose built liquefied natural gas bunkering vessel (LBV) from Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction Co. Ltd., at the Yeongdo shipyard in Busan, Korea. She will run on LNG for her maiden voyage, after a few days of loading LNG delivered by trucks at the shipyard.

Today the North West European Transmission System Operators have published their Gas Regional Investment Plan 2017 (North West Gas Regional Investment Plan – NW GRIP 2017). Besides the update of all elements related to infrastructure development in the Region, the NW GRIP 2017 focuses on the way gas infrastructure can contribute to a sustainable energy transition and on the conversion of L-gas to H-gas in Belgium, France and Germany.
Until recently, LNG-powered vessels could only be refuelled by LNG trucks. The ENGIE Zeebrugge now allows for ship-to-ship LNG bunkering as well.
LNG truck loading at the Zeebrugge LNG terminal has boosted over the past few years and Fluxys has innovated its service offer to enhance availability and flexibility. From 20 December 2017 until 31 January 2018, interested parties can secure berthing rights at the Zeebrugge LNG Terminal for ship-to-ship transfer of LNG from 1 April until 31 December 2018.
Exactly 30 years ago today, Zeebrugge LNG terminal was officially opened in the presence of the then prime minister Wilfried Martens. The terminal was originally intended to diversify Belgium's gas supply but it has since developed, together with the Zeebrugge area as a whole, into a central crossroads for North-West Europe's gas market.

From 26 January to 23 February 2018, Fluxys Belgium organizes a market consultation to adjust its transmission services. The focal points of this market consultation are
- introducing substitution services: these enable the conversion of unbundled capacity at an interconnection point into either bundled capacity on the same interconnection point, or into (un)bundled capacity on another interconnection point,
- introducing a Virtual Interconnection Point between Belgium and the Netherlands by merging the Zelzate 1, Zandvliet H and ‘s-Gravenvoeren interconnection points,
- streamlining and optimizing the booking and invoicing processes,
- some technical changes.
Parent company Fluxys has taken over the concession in the port of Antwerp at quay 526-528 to make liquefied natural gas (LNG) available as an alternative fuel for ships and barges, in one of the Port Authority's key initiatives to make the port's activities more sustainable. Fluxys will add a permanent LNG bunkering facility by the end of next year to complement the existing mobile (truck-to-ship) bunkering service.
