COVID-19 – Business continuity Q&A – IUK
We have put some of the most frequently asked questions about coronavirus from our customers, stakeholders and service providers into a handy Q&A overview. If you have any more questions or need further information, please feel free to contact us. You can always find the information about our COVID-business continuity plan on the website.
Are IUK’s activities impacted?
All services are operated as usual. Our teams in Zeebrugge, Bacton and London take all the necessary precautions and strictly follow guidelines from authorities. We are putting all of our efforts into ensuring the safety of all involved people, while maintaining reliable and efficient operations.
What are the communication channels with IUK?
Our business continuity planning ensures that we have open channels for timely communication with our customers, stakeholders and service providers. You can contact the team as usual by e-mail iukinfo@interconnector.com and by phone +44 (0)20 3621 7800. The physical mail gets handled but we cannot guarantee processing them at the regular speed. Therefore if your request needs a prompt response, we strongly encourage you to use electronic communication.
Capacity bookings can be made as usual via PRISMA or via IUK’s IAM Partners (Griffin Markets, HPC SA, Cavendish Markets).
Is there an alternative way to nominate if I (or my nomination service provider) is not able to send Edig@s messages anymore?
Should the nomination system fail, we will accept receiving nominations via email or fax. For this, please complete this form and send it by email to services@gmsl.co.uk, who will process this on behalf of IUK. Given that in case of emergency all nominations will have to be entered manually, we ask that our shippers nominate flat rates, whenever possible, to restrict renominations, and to take into account longer lead times.

COVID-19 – All IUK essential operations remain active and we carefully comply with the recommendations of national authorities
Despite the major impact of the coronavirus outbreak, the essential services of IUK will remain operational. As one of the key operators of European gas infrastructure, we are responsible for the energy supply of our customers. Public services, households, hospitals and many industries are in need of energy supplies, now more than ever.
In this highly sensitive period, we have taken the necessary steps to safeguard the continuity of business operations while keeping everyone safe. For all our activities – our gas flows from Belgium to the UK and from the UK to Belgium – we are carefully complying with the recommendations of national authorities in the field of health and safety.
We are proud to be able to ensure a continued stable gas supply for both society and our customers/partners, thanks to the commitment of our dedicated teams across Europe.
We thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation in this extraordinary situation.
