Improved Reverse Flow

IUK has modified the BE to UK operations which will be implemented from 1 December 2020 in order to increase efficiency and deliver cost savings to the market.

As a default from 1 December 2020, IUK will revise its available technical capacity in the BE to UK flow direction for within day capacity (“WD”) down to 562 GWh/d. All other products beyond WD will be offered at 100% of technical capacity of 803GWh/d.

If however IUK has realised bookings exceeding 30% of its technical BE-UK capacity, then available WD BE to UK capacity will be offered up to our technical capacity of 803GWh/d. 

IUK is making this change to ensure the efficient operation of its equipment where booking commitments ahead of the gas day remain low. The benefit of this modification has been reflected in a lower commodity charge, applicable as from the start of GY 2020/21.
