In the fall of 2023, three additional ORVs were commissioned to increase regasification capacity and further reduce reliance on our conventional systems. The final stage of deployment of the ORVs was scheduled for the beginning of 2026 and would also allow us to increase our regasification capacity by an additional 2.3 GWh/h . Thanks to the efforts of our technical teams we can commission this final phase as of January 1 2025.

Fluxys LNG - 3 SABRs on sale via auction for January 2025

    News
    17/12/2024
Fluxys LNG will offer three Stand Alone Berthing Rights (“SABRs”) via auction.

The SABRs are offered for the period starting on the 1st of January 2025 and ending on the 31st of January 2025.

Product description

As from January 2025, Zeebrugge LNG is commercializing new automated loading bays, enabling to load LNG containers or semi-trailers autonomously*.

This is ideal for supplying:

  • Industrial users not connected to a natural gas grid
  • Small ships running on LNG
  • LNG to filling stations

*Assisted Services remain available during specific time slots and Automated Services are only available for trained and authorized drivers.

Cost of this operation

The introduction of the new automated truck loading bays offers unassisted services to clients with authorized drivers, which enhances convenience but also reduces the tariff compared to the existing assisted services.

Tariff applicable during the month of January 2025, calculated with the index of December 2024.

Operational Requirements

Training Process for Drivers to use Unassisted Loadings Services

To become an Authorised Driver, the driver must successfully complete a structured training program consisting of a remote online training and three practical training sessions.

As a first step, truck drivers must follow remotely an online “Safety” training. Please note that all drivers must complete a "Safety" training annually to gain access to the terminal. This training is mandatory for all drivers, regardless of whether they require assistance or not.

For training of unassisted driver, a second “Process” training consisting of several compulsory module is required to get access to the on-site practical training.

Online Training

On-site practical training for drivers is conducted by the Terminal Operator over three scheduled LNG Truck Loading Services:

  1. First Operation: The Terminal Operator performs the loading service while instructing the driver.
  2. Second Operation: The Terminal Operator and driver perform the loading service together.
  3. Third Operation: The driver performs the loading service by himself, under the supervision of the Terminal Operator.

Successful completion of the third operation along with meeting all operational and safety standards qualifies the driver as an Authorized Driver.

Once obtained, authorization remains valid for three years. However, if a driver does not complete an unassisted LNG Truck Loading Service within six months, the authorization expires.

The renewal procedure consists of performing the third practical session previously mentioned.

Scheduling Truck Loading Slots

The introduction of non-assisted service implies relatively significant changes in the schedule which are reflected in the following illustration:

As depicted, three different types of slots will be made available for 2025:

  • Unassisted Slots: basic Truck Loading Service where only authorized drivers can autonomously load their trucks without any assistance provided
  • Assisted Slots: hybrid loading service combining a simple Truck Loading Service for authorized drivers on top of which a Truck Loading Assistance Service can be booked for drivers who are not yet authorized
  • Driver Training: slot dedicated solely for drivers’ practical training sessions. If not scheduled upfront, the slot will become available for Unassisted and Assisted Slots as well. Terminal Operator will make this assessment at least 7 days upfront.

For your convenience, please find a comprehensive document that summarizes and all the services to be booked for each slot type.

Please note that all drivers must complete a "Safety" training annually to gain access to the terminal. This training is mandatory for all drivers, regardless of whether they require assistance or not.

QR Procedure to Enter the Terminal

Truck drivers are required upon arrival at the terminal to scan a unique QR code linked to their appointment. The QR Code can be downloaded in TruckManager via the “Download Report” button in the appointment section.

To clarify this process, we attach a detailed guide for your reference.

Registration of ADR Documentation

To comply with ADR regulation, Fluxys must ensure that all vehicle parts of the trucks being loaded at the terminal have a valid ADR certificate. To streamline this process, a new ADR module has been introduced in TruckManager. This module allows users to upload the required documentation directly, simplifying submission and tracking.

Starting from June 2025, the ADR module will be linked to the status of each vehicle part. If a valid ADR certificate is not uploaded and approved by this date, the vehicle part will be denied access to our Terminal.

For your convenience, we provide a detailed document outlining the steps to register ADR documentation using the new TruckManager module.

Congestion Period

To maximize the effective usage of the booked truck loading slots for the next months we decided to implement a Scheduling Congestion Period.

During this period the possibilities to reschedule a slot will be limited in the 21 days before the start of the slot.
The cancellation and release of slots before the freeze period of 21 days is free of charge.

During the freeze period:

  • Rescheduling slots within the day it was originally scheduled is free of charge until 11 am of the gasday preceding the start of your slot;
  • Cancelling and releasing slots is also possible until 11 am of the gasday preceding the start of the slot, but 100% of the slot fee will be charged except when another party still manage to schedule the released slot. In this case 50% of the slot fee is reimbursed.
