Fluxys sells its stake in Hanseatic Energy Hub (HEH)
In 2021, Fluxys signed an agreement to co-develop the HEH-project in Germany. This project involves the construction of an LNG-terminal along the Elbe in Stade, near Hamburg, by 2027. Fluxys was a minority shareholder in HEH and has decided to sell its shares.
As a key infrastructure partner, Fluxys is focusing on infrastructure projects in Belgium, connections with neighbouring countries and offshore connections in relation to initiatives to import hydrogen or other low-carbon molecules and export CO2.
Pascal De Buck, CEO of Fluxys, says : "We are pleased that the commercial and technical course for implementing the Hanseatic Energy Hub has been set and are confident that the project will become a success. This gives us comfort to fully dedicate our focus to further projects where our contribution as essential infrastructure partner generates additional value for a low-carbon society."
